Two Mountain View High School students are traveling to New York City to participate in the Honors Performance Concert Series at Carnegie Hall. Emily will be performing with the ensemble after being selected from thousands of nationwide competitive auditions. One of only 4 alto saxophones chosen, she will perform with the 102 member band.
Sarah, tuba, was selected as First Runner up and will participate in related activities.
MVHS Band Director Blake Henley says, āIām very proud of both of the girls. Performing at Carnegie Hall is the dream of every musician. Emily is the first high school student Iāve ever had to have earned the opportunity to play there. Iām sure They will represent Mountain View Schools and Stone County well.ā

MVHS Week at a Glance-December 15-19

Mountain View High School will be conducting an Emergency Preparedness Lockdown Drill today, Thursday, December 11th, at 9:45 AM.
Arkansas state law requires schools to complete at least one lockdown drill each year. We want to make our community aware so there is no cause for concern. This practice helps us ensure a safe and prepared environment for all students and staff.
Again, THIS IS ONLY A DRILL.
Classes will resume as normal at 9:55 AM.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a safe learning community.
